Mayor Alvarez oversees the day-to-day operations of government which employs more than 30,000 employees and operates with a budget of $7 billion dollars. The Mayor is responsible for the management of all administrative departments within the County, following a decision made by voters in January 23, 2007, to change the way Miami-Dade County government was run.
With a common sense approach, Mayor Alvarez is focused on making Miami-Dade County Government more efficient and responsive to the needs of residents, while at the same time championing critical infrastructure projects which will create thousands of jobs in a time of economic uncertainty and ensure Miami-Dade County remains a world-class community for generations to come.

"See Me Safe" promotes the proper use of child safety restraints - The educational component of this campaign stresses the need for prevention in our community and teaches parents how to properly restrain small children in car safety seats.
