Javier D. Souto was first elected Miami-Dade County Commissioner representing District 10 in April 1993. He was reelected – without opposition – in 1994, 1998 and in 2002. His Commission district includes portions of Kendall and Westchester.

Participate in Monthly Town Meetings - Commissioner Souto holds two monthly town meetings, which offer residents the opportunity to meet with him and voice their concerns regarding neighborhood problems.

Proposed widening of Bird Road into a dangerous 8 lane highway in front of Tropical Park - October 31, 2008 - (Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Two letters written on October 31, 2008 by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier D. Souto express his frustrations because the State has disregarded the opinion of the residents, business owners, and stake holders in their decision to widen Bird Road.
